Social Media Content Creator (Video Games)

Casual Role, 10 hrs/week

Hybrid, in Perth, WA

(Remote in Western Australia is also possible for the right person)

We are looking for a casual Social Media Content Creator who’s interested in social media, marketing, and video games.

We are UNIKAT Label, an independent video games publisher dedicated to games that push the art of gaming forward. We champion the artistic, the different, and the genre misfits. We’re (probably) the first and only PC and console video game publisher from Western Australia. And you know what? We’re pretty damn proud of it. We’ve published the liminal-spaces hit POOLS and the dark cozy cyberpunk city builder Dystopika, and we’ve got more games coming soon: Out Fishing, Zangyou: Overtime, and others in the pipeline.

With our number of games growing, we’re looking for someone who can help us create short‑form video content to promote our titles across TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, and X with several social posts each week and keep our socials active.

What you’ll be doing

This is a casual position, with flexible working hours, at 10 hours a week. We are a remote company in Western Australia, with occasional in-person catch-ups in Perth when needed.

Your core job (most of your hours):

  • Create 2-3 short-form videos a week for TikTok, Reels, and Shorts. We’ll supply gameplay footage and capture where needed, and you bring the ideas, hooks, edit, and optional voiceover. If you want to capture gameplay for your vision, we’ll show you how.

  • Come up with content ideas, hooks, and angles for each game and the overall UNIKAT brand. We will brainstorm together too.

The rest:

  • Creating 1-2 static posts (screenshots, GIFs, quotes, dev insights) to post on X.

  • Responding to early comments.

  • Keep an eye on analytics and trends.

  • Create a short monthly “what works, what doesn’t work” report.

About you

We don’t expect you to know everything. But it would be great if you:

  • Understand social media and enjoy being on it.

  • Love video games and understand the culture.

  • Have experience with short-form content and light video editing.

  • Enjoy experimenting and coming up with ideas.

  • Are a bit of a wordsmith who can express oneself in an entertaining way (not looking for pompous extravaganza here - unless it fits).

  • Aren’t afraid to try things, fail a bit, and try again. It’s called experimentation.

From our end, we will teach you everything we know about games marketing, and hope we’ll learn something from you too. And we welcome applicants from all backgrounds, identities, and walks of life. If you love games and want to make cool stuff with us, we want to hear from you.

How to apply

If you’re interested, send us an email with a resume and a short note covering:

  • A little bit about yourself - who you are, what interests you, and something you’ve done that you’re proud of (anything counts: personal, creative, gaming, whatever).

  • Your favourite game or games.

  • Fave social media profiles, campaigns, or content that made an impression on you (gaming or not, does not matter).

  • Why you’d like to work in video game marketing and content creation.

  • If you do your own gaming or other type of socials, send them through too!

We want to see what type of person you are, what excites you, and whether you’ll put a bit of effort into writing that email (we’ve seen some firecrackers in the past…).

And if you have any questions, just ask. As a wise man once said: there aren’t any stupid questions, just stupid answers (although that theory can be tested, please don’t test it on us).

If you’re feeling this role, we’d love to hear from you.

As much as we’d love to reply to everyone, only shortlisted candidates will be contacted. And a huge thanks to everyone who takes the time to apply.
